Deodorants vs Antiperspirants

Deodorants vs Antiperspirants

Deodorants vs Antiperspirants - What you need to know to make the right healthy choice.

Why do we sweat? Well, It's main function is to control body temperature. But sometimes, excessive sweating can be uncomfortable or lead to unpleasant odours. This is where we turn to deodorants and antiperspirants to control the smell. They both work in very different ways and lately we have all been wanting to follow a more natural approach without causing any harm to our body.

Antiperspirants change the way your body works. They use aluminium to act as a plug to stop the sweat coming out. They then have deodorising and anti-bacterial ingredients added to prevent body odour. These extra ingredients are needed because antiperspirants only stop 20-50% of sweat. So you can imagine the amount of added ingredients pooled into these products.

Deodorants only focus on stopping body odour and DON’T change your body’s normal function of sweating. They work by using odor absorbing ingredients like bicarb soda, arrowroot powder, cornstarch or clay. These powders also soak up wetness so they can give similar protection as a antiperspirant. They also have anti bacterial oils that not only smell amazing but keep the smelly bacteria at bay.

A good deodorant is natural, it’s healthy, and it WORKS. It's 100% natural, aluminium free, paraben free deodorant that works all day, even for sensitive skin. Zero body odour, Zero irritation.
